"Look In Your Mirrors When You Drive"

Break into a rage because i’m high
Look in your mirrors when you drive
And generate a style only one of us will mind
Sit cross legged in the stars
You’re not that bitter you’re just proud
Denounced amongst the sky like every sight and sound

Beneath your vain hope and brittle pout
I’ve always wondered if a fool could fall for another fool?
Isn’t that breaking all the rules?
Straight facts leading me to merrily spend
Was I really that keen to face such a punch-drunk pastime?
When we’re drunk we’re also blind
Grabbing onto blondes going off the rails
Would it be better if I just held you the same?

Don’t subject just change your name
To Midas or The Rain
And jump around in the puddles so you can hide the blame
Except that now i’m bloody soaked
You could have fallen in head first
That might have been fun
So much fun, fun, fun
We’ll tease until we’re stunned
Between the Lions, train wreck Tigers sent to lend their friends
Unable to find a four leaf clover
Bitten off before they can send
A message to every God that listens in
But they can’t tell if we’re sober or pretending

To be movie stills when fools rush in
I’ve often wondered how that song would go
Coy as we recall the words
Forget the chorus and that we cared
We’ll just stay for one more song
Whilst the narator ponders another scene
Cut to another theme
Our lives are being driven by the impaired
The director takes half a decade to repair
Seeing through the whispers in your hair
You were nothing but science
When that blonde girl became lost in your head

I’ve always wondered if a fool could fall for another fool
We’ll write our very own rules
Bowled over with tricks of denial
Am I really able to face such a punch-drunk pastime?
When we’re drunk we’re redefined
Send doggeral verse to St Valentine
And save your stories for another time
It’s almost the end of the night
We’ve found a four leaf clover
At least we can now say we both tried
